New Reality TV Obsession: Made in Chelsea

Made in Chelsea is a new reality tv show on Channel 4 in the UK. It's quite similar to The Hills or The City as it follows around a small group of people who all seem to have similar backgrounds and be friends with each other. The cast comprises of young, wealthy socialites who live and hang out in and around Chelsea, though according to some news articles I've read recently, apparently some of them aren't what they seem on the show. Anyway, it's good, silly, reality tv and I'm starting to become addicted!

My favorite character is Funda, the Brazillian girlfriend of one of the boys, Spencer. I think she's gorgeous, stylish and not at all what you expect on a reality tv show. She's always the picture of decorum and grace, showing little to no emotion no matter how upsetting the conversation she's involved in. She's not your typical screamer who slightly resembles someone from The Jerry Springer Show every time she finds out her boyfriend has been naughty with some other girl. She's cool, calm and collected always.

For those of you who don't know, Chelsea is a very affluent area of London and home to the famous King's Road, which is a desired shopping destination in London. It's located in the Borough of Kensington & Chelsea and if you've been reading for a while, you'll remember I used to live in Kensington for a few months when we first arrived here, also very affluent. The show is obviously about the young, rich and fabulous of London. We now live in Putney, in the Borough of Wandsworth, which is just across the river from the Boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham and Kensington & Chelsea. Because we hang out in Chelsea quite a bit, I love this show for getting ideas on restaurants, bars, shops, spas, etc. I love watching it and seeing that I've been to some of the places before! So exciting since when I usually choose somewhere to go in London, I have no idea what it's going to be like before I get there since I'm still quite new to the city.
