Oldie But Goodie

I like to rent films from the older sections in the movie store sometimes, either to rewatch something I've already seen or to finally get around to seeing something I've always wanted to watch, but never gotten the chance to. Tonight I watched Emma with Gwyneth Paltrow. Based on the Jane Austin classic, this is the story on which Clueless was based. Well, I absolutely loved it! It's a charming story, very ahead of it's time (imagine marrying your "friend" in the days of Jane Austin - that would indeed be a blessing!), and it's so gentile and lovely! The costumes and scenery are beautiful and it's such a wonderful escape from the fast-paced world we live in now, taking us to a slower time in England when ladies did needle point in the garden, people sat down to take their tea without television and a party consisted of old friends, sitting around a fire drinking wine. Lovely days gone by!
I recently moved my recently read books into another page which you can access by clicking the link at the top of this site. I'm also going to start a film link, showing my favorite films, which I'll add to from time to time when I see something I really love. If you're ever stuck for something to rent from Netflix, have a look at my suggestions!
xoxo,
Pink Julep!
