Pink Julep at the Cinema: Eat Pray Love

I finally got away from the madness of cleaning and packing for a few hours to go see Eat Pray Love and I have to say, this film was just what the doctor ordered! I've been having a little case of the nerves about our move lately. London is so very far away from everything I've ever known and all the comforts of home.
Eat Pray Love stars Julia Roberts, Robert Jenkins, Javier Bardem, James Franco and Viola Davis. It is based on the memoir of the same name by Elizabeth Gilbert and tells the story of a woman who has given up on life. She's lost her zest and hunger for life and new experiences and instead of facing that, for years has covered it up with projects. In order to wake up and get involved in her life again, she embarks of a quest to spend the year in Italy, India and Indonesia visiting Rome, an ashram and Bali, experiencing the food, wine, cultures and religions of these countries.
This film is beautiful! It's as visually pleasing as it's very important and spiritual messages!

I personally feel that every female over the age of 25 should have to see this film. It applies to all of us, even if we love our lives, husbands, children, jobs... it is easy to lose balance of all the wonderful aspects of life that we try to juggle... and the first ball we drop is usually ourselves.

With such a huge adventure around the corner for me, I found this film to be really inspiring. I've been moaning and crying a little about fear... fear of British tv shows and the humour I don't get, fear of the unfamiliar, fear of not knowing my way around, fear of not knowing anyone, fear of people not liking me and it goes on and on and on.... But the best thing I can do is go balls to the walls and open my mind to everything! I will try everything, go everywhere, meet everyone and give it the best shot I can. I haven't been having the best 2 1/2 years and I should be excited for this adventure, not afraid of it.
Anyway, enough rambling. I loved this film. If you haven't seen it yet, do yourself a favor. You won't be disappointed! And my husband also loved it, so take your husbands, boyfriends, gay besties, whomever...
If you've already seen it, what did you think? Did you love it and feel as inspired by it as I do?
