On the Vineyard...

We've been having so much fun this week, discovering/re-discovering this wonderful island. Martha's Vineyard is a true American treasure :) I LOVE THIS ISLAND!

We flew into Boston last Saturday and made the one hour trek to Woods Hole where we boarded the ferry. After a short ride, we arrived in Oak Bluffs. From there, we made the drive to Chilmark, which is where we've been living for the past week. We are staying in a great, cozy farmhouse, with the most wonderful view...

Each morning, Lance and I have woken up to this view from our window:

In case you can't tell from the photograph, there are about 25 sheep that graze in the field next to our farmhouse. They are so cool! They are owned by the family that lives just across the road from where we are staying. They are a well-known Vineyard family who have lived on the same stretch of land for hundreds of years. Their farm is so neat. Their home is absolutely gorgeous- authentic New England farmhouse, impeccably decorated and furnished the way a true farmhouse should be.

Lance, my Dad, and my Grandfather entered the annual MV Fishing Derby this week. So, we have spent a lot of time along the beach while they fish. Unfortunately, the fishing hasn't been all that great this week, but its still neat to watch them battle the ocean waves. Lance caught a striped bass the other day! Not heavy enough to enter into the derby though :(

And here is the beautiful scenery we have enjoyed while they fish...

I have taken SO MANY photos this week! I wish I could post all of them, but that would be a little obnoxious I believe ;) So I think I'll try to do a few trip recaps over the next several days.
We are heading back to Michigan tomorrow afternoon. We'll be very sad to leave this wonderful place, but are excited to get back to our Tilly!! :)

Hope everyone has had a wonderful week and has a great weekend!
