Trendy Tights

Tights are back this year and they're bigger than ever! Starlets are pairing them with designer frocks on the red carpets for warmth and fashion! I for one love tights! I think they give a great, smooth look to the legs and can really enhance an outfit. I even love them with more formal looks as on Emma Roberts above.

I love opaque tights with a miniskirt. And wearing tights with your mini like Ashlee Simpson (above) makes it a little less shocking to pair that mini with a great pair of sky-high heels! Sexy and chic!

Patterned tights are all the rage these days, especially the polka dot variety as seen recently at the British Fashion Awards by Alexa Chung (above) and before that on Sarah Jessica Parker.

I love the way Liv Tyler (above) uses opaque tights to creat a blank canvas of black on her body and then drape it with a flowy printed dress and layers of jewelry! This is super chic and a really great way to wear that perfect dress you've picked out, even if there's a snow storm outside! You won't look confident in your amazing look if you're shaking & shivering so stay warm if at all possible! Wear tights!

Grey tights are one of my favorites! I bought several pairs of grey tights during my Christmas 2009 trip to LA and wore them with grey booties during the colder weather in Cayman. Grey tights are fabulous for one because they go with everything, even the Spring dresses that you're trying to pass off as winter wear with tights & a cardi (which I totally recommend!) like Jayma Mays (above) in her mint green dress. I kind of love how she's paired her grey tights with leopard print shoes, but I'd never have the nerve to do that!

Whitney Port (above) also looks fabulously chic in grey tights! She's perfectly created an outfit by using my one of my favorite style techniques, mixing neutrals! Grey is one of the best neutrals!

Some other fun trendy tights I've been enjoying are knit ribbed tights for funky warmth, vertically ribbed black tights for longer, leaner looking legs and colored tights! I have a pair of purple tights that I'm dying to try out soon and when I do I'll post a pic and you can all leave comments to tell me how ridiculous I look! Ha! xx
