The Crimson Petal and the White on BBC2

I have heard and read such wonderful things about The Crimson and the Petal White, a new drama series on BBC 2 based on the best selling book of the same name by Michel Faber. Last night I decided to get caught up and watch the 1st 2 episodes of the costume drama on BBC i-player before the 3rd episode airs tonight.

The drama is slow going to start, but once it gets going, it's really good! Romola Garai is excellent as Sugar, the wiley and very intelligent prostitute who captures the heart of William Rackham, a wealthy businessman and writer with a mentally incompetant wife.

I don't know where the story is going, but what I do know is that I am loving this show! If you're a fan of costume dramas and living in the UK, get caught up on the first 2 episodes as the 3rd airs tonight. If you're not living in the UK, keep an eye out for this series on dvd in a few months!
