NYFW: Bright Modern Prep at Peter Som Spring

Peter Som's Spring 2012 collection at New York Fashion Week is a fabulous modern take on the preppy look with a little 60's & 70's glam mixed in and a whole lot of color! Big themes of the collection seem to be florals and color blocking with classic shapes and an interesting mix of textures.

These florals are so bright and fun! Mixed with platform penny loafer style shoes, they are classic prep with a modern twist!
I'm loving the super bright 60's inspired party dresses too! They bring a bit of fun to this collection and diversify the silhouettes.
These maxi looks are quite possibly my favourite pieces from the collection. They have an air of 70's Studio 54 glamour to them with a touch of Palm Beach chic thrown in. I could totally see a jet setting fashionista wearing these gorgeous frocks on vacation in St. Barts.

Over all, I love Peter Som's Spring 2012 collection! It's a fresh, inspired mix of the old and new. The colors are brilliant and chic and I love the way color blocking plays a big part in these looks.
I can't recall ever really loving a Peter Som collection before so I'm pleasantly surprised! What do you think of the collection?
