While I was away over the weekend I finally finished Nina Garcia's Look Book which I've been reading for quite some time.
I am happy I read this book and to be honest, I learned a lot of great tips, but for most intents and purposes, I'd pretty much call this book a reference book. Every gal should have this on the shelf to refer to when dressing for all of life's occasions, but reading from cover to cover, though Garcia does offer interesting information and history lessons throughout, it doesn't read as well as her previous books.
My favorite thing about this book as well as her other 3 books, is that she gives you information that translates well beyond your closet. There is background information on all the major Jewish Holidays for those who may be invited to a Passover, but may not understand what it's all about. Nina Garcia not only tells you what to wear, but why, how to behave, what type of gift to bring if any, and other pieces of information so that whatever you're event may be, you won't only look like a lady, but you'll act like one too.
It's a great book. Every fashionista should have a copy on the shelf for reference. Nina Garcia's Look Book is the perfect gift for a young fashionista who might be heading off to college, graduating from college or even a girl who's about to get married.
Next up I'm reading French Women For All Seasons by Mireille Guiliano. What are you reading these days?
