Sunday Stuff

  • My twice baked sweet potatoes were a hit at my dinner club last night. They were a little on the sweet side for me actually, but still very good. I generally bake sweet potatoes with some brown sugar, cinnamon, and cranberries and the sweetness is just right!
  • I received wonderful puppy news this morning!! My Dad and Step-Mom have found a male Golden to breed their sweet Chessy with! He's a beautiful golden and if all goes as planned, we should have puppies on the way by the end of the month. I am so excited about this! Lance and I have been talking about our future puppy for sooo long. Now we're closer to it being a reality! We will be praying that everything goes successfully!
  • School is keeping me VERY busy these days. Twice a week, I am working in an 8th grade English classroom as part of my practicum. I'm really enjoying that! Its great working with the "kids" in real life, and being able to observe the successful running of a classroom. My cooperating teacher is wonderful, and really wants me to student teach for her next Fall. In my classes, we are in the midst of major final projects. I can't believe its almost the end of November already, but it is so we've been super busy with group projects, unit planning, and research papers. The great thing is that I'm really enjoying all of it :o)
  • Yes, I saw Ne*w Moo*n. I was one of those people who thought that books/movies about vampires, were-wolves, etc.. was for the birds. On a whim, I decided to watch Twi*light after it came out on DVD, and I LOVED IT! If you can see past the sci-fi part, you'll see that its a wonderful love story about forbidden love. Ed*ward Cul*len is not so bad to look at either :o) Ne*w Moo*n was just as great. I'm going to read the next book during Christmas break.
  • I am vowing to myself to get back into kickboxing and start running this week. Because my schedule is very full with school, I've been using it as an excuse to not make it to any classes. But reality is that I can make it on Monday nights, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday mornings. Yeah. Four options.. I'm just lazy! But its time to get back there. Its depressing seeing all of the work I did in the year leading up to the wedding just fade away. My clothes are starting to get a little uncomfortable and things are definitely sticking out that should not be! From now on, I will also be blogging strictly about exercise and eating healthy on a specific day of the week. I've seen other bloggers do this with their journeys to lose weight and get healthy, and its very inspiring!
  • I'm really excited about Thanksgiving! We're having dinner at my grandparents (where our wedding was), and the whole family will be there! A tradition in our family is to go to a tree farm in the country the morning after Thanksgiving. We all pick out our trees, cut them down, and then have breakfast at Red Knapp's in Oxford. Its such a fun day! And you know what else that means.. time to decorate for Christmas! I hold off until at least the day after Thanksgiving to start decorating or playing Christmas music. To me, that is when the holiday season really begins! November 1st is WAY too early!
  • One last thing that I'm really excited about! I'm in the process of making some big changes to my blog! Its something I've been wanting to do for quite some time. I'm not sure when the "changes" will be unveiled yet, but they are definitely on their way. Its going to be great!
