Random Weekend

Friday I was doing my makup when this appeared in my window!!! I nearly died of a heart attack! hahaha He was singing opera and then later he started singing Celine Dion... apparently he was putting spikes on the window ledges to keep the pigeons from coming into the apartments and sitting on the building...

Top - Dorothy Perkins, Denim Mini - Uniqlo, Tights - TK Maxx, Suede Wedge Boots - Aerosoles, Earrings - Accessorize
This was my OOTD on Friday. I had some errands to run and figured we go out on Friday night for a least a pub night so I decided to walk on the wild side with some leopard print. This is the first item of animal print besides fuzzy slippers I've bought and I love it.

As it turns out, we did go to the pub and had a great time playing this touch screen game called Papparazzi... I'm totally addicted!
Saturday night we had dinner at Cafe Rouge... to be honest, it wasn't great. But we had a great time anyway. The wine was very nice and they do a fabulous Fougasse with garlic butter and melted Gruyerre cheese!

This morning we brunched at Cafe Continente and it was amazing! After brunch we went for a stroll through our neighborhood and found this lovely little memorial park. It would be a lovely place to sit and read in the summer!

It commemorates the damage done to the Kensington area during WWII. It's gorgeous!

I hope you've all had a great weekend! I know I have! xo

This Weather is Perfect for Ponchos!

Poncho - H&M, Long Sleeve Scoop Neck Tee - H&M, Skinny Jeans - Armani Exchange, Bag - Payless, Gold Earrings - Accessorise

Thanks to everyone who left me a suggestion regarding the type of top I should wear under my poncho. I grabbed a bunch of options at H&M a couple of weeks ago and a few of them actually worked! The weather here is crisp, but not too cold! The sun was shining yesterday making it warm enough to go sans coat, so it was perfect poncho weather! I had some errands to run and wanted to make a pilgrimage to TK Maxx (the UK version of TJ Maxx - same exact thing, not sure why the K instead of J though!). I had a pretty good time and scored a pair of Lucky Brand Jeans, a Cynthia Rowley dress and some tights all for less than 75 GBP!!! I love a bargain! Anyway, here's the rest of my outfit... the only long mirror I have in the house has a panel that runs right through it, so I can't shoot my shoes and top at the same time... annoying!

Nails - OPI's Ski Teal We Drop, Bow Ring - Accessorize, Turquoise Ring - Primark

Brown Riding Boots - Gabor
Today I have a few things to do. I'm going to try to sort out the banking situation. We basically just have to let our bank know that hubby started working... kinda stupid if you ask me since he'll be getting paid most like through direct deposit, but this is the required process, so that's how it goes. Also, an old friend from Kentucky is living here and I might get to meet her and her baby for lunch if all goes as planned. Then it's back to Selfridges to return some shirts for hubs. I got him one he already has and one he doesn't like... oops!
What's everyone planning for the weekend?

Random Featuring Maybelline Falsies Mascara Review & Jimmy Choo for Uggs Launch Event at Selfridges

I'll be honest... generally I'm taking cues from some of my fellow bloggie friends when it comes to mascara! In the past I've taken cues from Pretty In Pink Megan and Posh Shasta who now writes for Cupcake Mag. Their previous suggestions have led me to try mascaras by YSL and Dior, most of which I have loved, some of which I'm still using! So when the Blogosphere blew up over Maybelline Falsies Mascara, I became intrigued! All my bloggie buddies have raved about it so you can imagine how excited I was when I saw it in the drugstore during my first week in London! Such things were not readily available to us in the islands so I snatched it up, even though I didn't really need it!

I love this mascara! It's easy to apply, doesn't feel super thick like Diorshow and makes my lashes look very long! I don't think it has the same va va va voom as my old standby, Diorshow, but it's pretty darn close, a lot cheaper, easier to apply and less gooey! I particularly like the effect on my bottom lashes, which look longer and more visible than ever... generally I can't get them to look this good! I will definitely use this product again, specifically since it's so much cheaper and it delivers fabulous results! Why pay double?

So this is totally random, but isn't Mr. Julep cute? This is him on his first day of work heading off to the office! I'm so proud of my fella!

This week's nail color is OPI's Ski Teal We Drop, which I love! It's a fabulous teal color that's perfect for fall! Also, the update is, I actually trimmed my nails down (a little too short actually) and this is the first time in years I've had to do that! I do believe the biting has stopped!!! YAY!!!

I picked up some November issues this week of Elle UK, Instyle UK and my new favorite, Tattler! I love how they give you free stuff when you buy a magazing here!!! Lipgloss here, handcream there, and some mags have free samples! Loves it!

Yesterday was a big day. Here is my OOTD.

Navy Sweater Dress: Monsoon, Cotton Blend Grey Ribbed Tights: H&M, Scarf: Alexander McQueen, Black Buckle Wedges: Nine West, Blue Ring: Boots, Earrings: Gift

After getting ready, I rode the tube alone for the first time to Picadilly Circus to meet my friend for lunch. We ate at a place called Prezzo and it was delicious! Good girlie conversation too!

When I left Picadilly, I could've tubed to Oxford Street where the event was being held, but I had a few hours to kill and decided to explore a little, so I got off at Covent Garden. It's amazing there and I can't wait to take Mr. Julep! It was like getting off the tube in Italy!

Most people have heard of Covent Garden because that's where the Royal Opera House is.

There are loads of places to eat... I just couldn't get over the size of these Paella pans!

The street artists are fantastic. This man had no shoes on and he must have been freezing!

After a few hours I headed to Selfridges and signed in. I was given this oh so attractive wrist band to wear and told to go upstairs right away. When I arrived, there was no one there to direct me and thinking I'd basically seen it all, I nearly left. I went to get one last picture of the set-up and was told to get in line, so I thought oh, there must be more to this... well, there really wasn't. Basically I could've tried on these boots and bought them if I fancied paying upwards of 500 pounds for a pair of Uggs... so I waited in line for over 30 minutes to find out there wasn't anything more to see and the champagne they passed out wasn't quite worth it. They only allowed 3 or 4 people at a time into the pop-up store and hundreds were waiting... crazy! But it was a great experience and I got some photos for ya, so enjoy!

These black ones were my favorites and I might have considered them except that the calves were so small, I'd have to cut mine in half to fit into them...

As I was leaving Selfridges, I was a bit shocked by the amount of people in line just waiting to get into Louis Vuitton! There were lines on both entrances of the boutiques... it was very odd as well since there seemed to be only 1 or 2 people in the boutique at a time. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like this is a marketing endeavor to me. All we have heard about for weeks are the queues at LV... crazy!
So, what do you think of the Jimmy Choo Uggs? Will you be buying a pair soon? Do you like them? I have to say, while I'm not completely repulsed and I do think they're kind of cute, I'm not really a huge fan... would love to hear what you think!

Good Fun, Good Food & OOTD

Last night we headed out to Marlyebone to meet some people we made friends with in Cayman that came back to London a year ago. We went early and explored the neighborhood a bit and on our way there, we found this Belgian Food Company stand. I had a waffle with milk chocolate and hubby tried one with syrup. What a delightful snack! I wouldn't eat them all the time by any means, but it was certainly warm and yummy, a great combination in the cold!

Here's my OOTD from last night:

Cowle Neck Sweater Dress - H&M
Ribbed Tights - Hanes
Suede Boots - Aerosoles
Black Ring - H&M
Silver Leaf Earrings - Accessorize
Sunnies - Armani Exchange
Bag - Coach
Me met our friends at The Marlyebone Pub, a lovely establishment where we enjoyed some lovely glasses of wine! We then headed over to Union Cafe, a quaint spot with minimalist interior that reminded me of restaurants in downtown New York City. I ordered a steak and we drank Merlot. The food was great and the atmosphere very hip! We really enjoyed it!
We then went to have one last bevy at a cute little pub called The Beehive which I thought was a super cute pub and we had much chit chat about London, Cayman and upcoming events! It was so fun!
I will definitely be checking out more of the Marlyebone scene at some point... there's a place there that looks fabulous called La Fromagerie. It's a gigantic cheese store! I love nothing more than cheese!!! Happy Friday!

Tory Burch Shopping Event

Last week I attended the shopping event at Tory Burch for the Junior League of London. It was really fun and I met some fabulous new people while sipping champagne and looking at beautiful shoes & clothes!

I may have picked up a little something while I was there... can you guess?
If you said shoes, you're getting warmer...
My very first pair of Revas! I chose black with a silver buckle and I just love them!
OOTD: H&M Tee, Leggings & Boyfriend Cardi, Missoni Scarf and TB Revas

Here's how I wore them. While I'll say they're very comfy, I'll also say that they were a little painful by the end of the day. However, the sales lady told me that after a few wears they'd soften up and get more comfortable. Anyway, I just love them!

What color were your first Revas?
