Weekend Wrap Up: Christmas Table & German Market

We had guests who came for dinner and to stay the night so I took the opportunity to be festive and try out the place setting things I got for Christmas! I spent all day on Friday tidying our flat and setting up for our first guests since we moved here. We had planned to go ice skating on Friday night, but I was so tired (or knackered as they say here) that I plugged in the tree, opened the wine and we stayed in watching telly.
I love this centerpiece, which I got from Next for just 10 quid!

Coasters seem to be a big deal here... they are everywhere in every shop! I'm all for it! Anything I can get with a festive tree on it is okay with me! The placemats, napkins and coasters are all from John Lewis.

On Saturday we met Mr. Julep's brother and his wife at Waterloo Station. They were in London for the day and we had lunch at Wagumama. I have to say, I wasn't a fan, but I don't really like Chinese food at all. I had a fried chicken rice dish with curry sauce. It was so smothered in the sauce... with a little less, it would have been better. But it wasn't bad... I could eat it again if I had to... Here's my outfit from yesterday.

Camel Cowl Neck Tunic Sweater - H&M
Black Heat Tech Ribbed Knit Leggings - Uniqlo
Brown Riding Boots - Gabor
Turquoise Cocktail Ring - Primark
Gold Bow Earrings - Accessorize
I really love the look of black tights or leggings with brown boots! It makes the boots stand out more. I found teh Uniqlo Heat Tech leggings to be very warm and comfy! Mr. Julep likes their undershirts, but I'm not a cold enough person for them, however I was finding on cold days that regular leggings weren't standing up to the wind and weather, so these are a perfect warmer alternative!

After lunch we walked around the German Christmas Market near the London Eye. It was super festive and packed! We had a few gluhweins (German mulled wine) and they were so strong that it quickly turned into a very festive, giggly afternoon!

Hubs enjoyed himself!

And so did I... Like my red wine mouth? hahaha

Loved this sign on a booth that was selling beef kababs! hahaha

There were loads of German food vendors!
And street performers...

Love this shot of Big Ben and the London Eye! Did you know that Big Ben is actually the name of the bell and not the clock? I just learned that today!
After our fun afternoon we came home and I made curry dinner for our friends. We had drinks and went to our local pub, a great fun spot called The Old Oak on North End Road. It was great fun! I woke up all woozy this morning and cooked a big English breakfast before sending them on their way and have spent the rest of the day snoozing and relaxing!
What did you get up to this weekend?
