Artsy Autumn

The prints for Fall are very interesting! There is an artistic quality to the printed fashions that walked down the runway last Spring. These are not your mamma's polka dotted dresses nor do they resemble that embarrassing floral frock you were made to wear for Easter when you were 15. The prints for Autumn more closely resemble artworks you would find in a museum of modern art or the painted vases your crazy, hippy auntie makes! I for one love these fresh, new prints! I can't wait to get my hands on an artsy printed piece to enhance my wardrobe!

This Alexander McQueen dress reminds me of a mosaic and I absolutely love it! I'm also loving the prints that seem to fade away as seen on the Cynthia Rowley dress above.

Bold prints like those seen at Basso & Brooke and Erdem are perfectly in keeping with the jewel tone trend for Fall as well!

The Akris prints are by far my favourite from the Autumn collections! They look as if they were painted on the models' bodies by an incredible artist! Sleek and chic, they showcase the trend without looking too boho or edgy. Angelo Marani however, managed to use this trend in a boho way, combining the two trends flawlessly!

The best thing about the artistic prints for Autumn is that this is a trend that is totally accessible for anyone! There are dresses available with similar prints at every price point, whether you're a bargainista or shopping for high fashion.

Here are a few options for how you can get the look:

What do you think about this trend? Would you wear these artsy prints or are you more inclined to stay with standard florals and polka dots?
