Pink Julep Approved: Miley's Increasingly Edgy, Avant Garde Style

This photo was taken of Miley Cyrus in Paris a while back and I couldn't get enough of her Desperately Seeking Susan look! She looks to European and cool! And her style is getting more and more boho all the time.

She seems to be rocking a lot of leather and white lace, which is super rock and roll.

Like this gorgeous D&G number... love it!

And the architectural waisteline on this outfit with a white shirt is very reminiscent of centuries gone by, but edgy all the same!

I love this burnout velvet coat which she's paired with clogs! She's definitely rockin the Janis Joplin look here! And she's wearing that turquoise necklace a lot... I don't blame her. It's a fab piece and suits her style!

I'm looking forward to seeing Miley's future looks. It's like she's turned into the 3rd Olsen twin and I love it!
What do you think of her newfound edgy rocker style?

New Girl Crush: Jessica Chastain

I finally got to see The Help last week and I have to say, I absolutely loved it! I thought it was really beautifully done and stayed true to the book, which was one of the best books I think I've ever read! One thing really struck me though - I absolutely adore Jessica Chastain! She's pretty, talented and in The Help, she has like the most amazing hair ever! I am sure it was a wig or something, but still... I aspire to this level of hair greatness!

I just love the platinum color and the volume in her Marilyn Monroe type do! I might have to try out a look like this, though I'm not sure it would suit my face.

You can imagine my excitement when I read today on The Daily Mail website that Jessica Chastain is preparing to play Princess Diana! I think she'll be brilliant! What do you think?

Sparkle Baby, Sparkle!

The red carpet has been full of glittering goddesses lately showing us that the metallic trend isn't going anywhere! I for one think that when it's done right, metallic is a really great look! It's subtle, yet dramatic... formal and a little funky! I love the look.

What do you think of metallics? Are you all for them or do you think this trend is a little tired?

Stars' Covered Up Fall Looks I'm Loving

I've been noticing that it's not just me pulling out my woolies, but the stars are covering up for the chillier weather too and I'm just loving some of their looks! I especially love Audrina's clean cut 70's inspired look above. So chic and casual!

Courtney Love (in Chanel) shows us that we don't have to put away our peeptoe pumps and short sleeved sheaths just because it's cold! Put some tights on instead and rock a fabulous coat when you go outdoors!

Florals are big this fall and I'm seeing them all over London. Though I haven't found the floral frock that's just right for me yet, I do love this look of a a sweet floral dress over opaque black tights and pumps as Jennifer Garner is wearing above.

Nicole Richie is as chic as ever and wearing what we'll all be wearing this fall and winter I'm sure, the beloved sweater dress, tights and booties combo! You can't beat it and I hope this time around, sweater dresses of some description along with tights and leggings, never go out of style. They are just too comfy!

I love Lauren's 1940's inspired tap style shorts above with a classic button-down blouse. What's great about this outfit is that she's wearing three big trends without looking too trendy. Her statement piece is obviously the shorts, but she's also wearing olive green and berry lips, which are both huge trends for fall! I love this outfit as is if the weather permits, but if not, this would look soooo cute with tights and a cape for bearing the cold outside!
What is your favorite way to bundle up this fall?

Pink Julep Picks: The Worst & Best Dressed at the Emmy Awards

These are my picks for the worst and best dressed at the Emmy Awards. I like to leave things on a good note, so let's start with the worst - the very worst, Eva La Rue in an awful peach dress that looks like it's covered in iron-on doilies in all the wrong places! This color does nothing for Eva and the dress is a mess.

Kyle Richards is beautiful and her curvy body is bangin, but let's face it, blue metallic lame from head to toe might belong in a Spice Girls video, but it has no place on the red carpet, not to mention that it doesn't do Kyle any favors.
Ariel Winter's pink gown looks like those paper cut-outs of snowflakes you make at Christmas, secured to her body with an Elmer's glue stick. Then to top it off, it has that horrible peek-a-boo round neckline, much like many of the unfortunate prom dresses I had to look at in the late 90's. This looks like a cheap prom dress at best... no thanks!
I hate to put two of my biggest style icons, Gwyneth Paltrow and Emilio Pucci, on this list, but sometimes we are forced to do things we don't want to do... Everything about this dress is beautiful... except the very obvious and poorly placed midriff situation. If it isn't flattering on Gwyneth, it won't be flattering on anyone! That beautiful beaded skirt would've looked gorgeous with a white button-down shirt (think Sharon Stone), but as is, this is a hot mess!
I love Jane Krakowski, but this dress is awful and she should've gone a few shades lighter with the spray tan. If someone drew on her with red and blue markers, Jane would look like a can of Diet Pepsi.
Olivia Munn is gorgeous, but this green frock is frumpy and messy. Bad choice... nuff said.
Enough with the blue lame already! Amy Poehler is so cute and she has a real woman's body, which I love, but nobody should go out in public looking like a sparkly blue stuffed sausage.
Paz de la Huerta looks like the 2nd coming of Amy Winehouse and not in a good way! That color is mousy, her hair is a rat's nest and the slit is just too much. Tacky!
I really want to love Heather Morris's dress... In theory, it seems like a good idea, but in reality, it looks like someone draped her with navy blue streamers. The pinata look is not cute.
Dianna Agron is so cute, but this blue dress makes her look like a little girl who's playing in her granny's satin pajamas that don't quite fit. This dress is frumpy, boring and unflattering.

Now for the best dressed.... Drum roll please!
Aubrey Plaza was a vision in white! I love that she broke that pesky white after Labor Day rule!

Minka Kelly in a navy blue lace number looked classy and beautiful! I love how she let this gorgeous dress do the talking by keeping her hair, make-up and accessories simple. Stunning!

Emily Blunt never disappoints! Her gown has the right amount of plunging neckline, frou frou and texture. Love it!
Evan Rachel Wood reminded me of how Hollywood Glamour should look! This is how you wear black on the red carpet! She shut it down!
Sophia Vergara has curves that won't quit and she is so good at dressing for her shape! She oozes sexiness in this beautiful coral number! The big earrings are the perfect choice for both complimenting the dress and her style.
In my opinion, Gretchen Mol is one of the most beautiful women on the planet! She looks stunning in this black satin dress.
Martha Plimpton surprised me I have to say! I love her red sparkly frock and the neckline is perfect for her figure and hairstyle! Gorgeous!
I am so happy to see Claire Danes stepping outside of her prim and pretty box! This dress is a big step for Claire and she looked beautiful!
Julia Styles, where have you been? Your hiding has done you good, girl cause you look amazing! And that dress! Woowhee! Gorgeous!
My best dressed pick of the night was Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev in a red Donna Karan gown. The dress, the hair, the accessories... all perfect, but let's get back to the dress! It's gorgeous, interesting and red is the hot colour of the season!

Who were your picks for best and worst dressed at the Emmy's?

Pink Julep Loves: Cate Blanchett's Dramatic Red Carpet Style

When I first saw this dress I thought Alexander McQueen! But turns out this beauty is vintage Christian La Croix and it is nothing short of phenominal! I almost always love Cate Blanchett's red carpet style! She is always glamourous, glitzy and yet takes risks! She's one of the first stars I recall wearing Armani Prive and now it's all over red carpets left, right and center. Cate Blanchett is truly a style icon of our time!

Pink Julep Loves: Hairy Chest

I am digging this dress on Kyle Minogue! I love how designers are coming up with new inventive ways to wear fur and texture! And with all the fabulous faux out there, no animals have to die or be harmed for you to look fab in fur! I love this idea and look forward to seeing more pieces like this! Though with my chesty build, I'd look like a uniboobed yetti in this dress, but someone who's a little flat chested and thin could rock this look in a heartbeat and look a little more ample on top as well!
What do you think? Would you sport a hairy chest?

Sisterhood of the Travelling Gilmore Fashionista

Alexis Bledel, fondly remembered by all Gilmore Girls addicts and Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants devotees alike has never been know for her fashion choices as far as I know. But lately she's been turning up on the Look of the Day poll on InStyle.com fairly regularly! Folks, our little Rory Gilmore seems to be growing up into a beautiful fashion plate of a starlet and I must say, I love her style!

I love how she's taking chances with different fabrics, silhouettes and colors! This gold number is super sexy and a very grown-up choice for a young lady who might be trying to get out of her type-casting high school rut! I think she looks stunning!

I am all over this casual look! Skinny jeans, a slinky well-made top and bow peeptoe pumps!?!?! Sign me up! I could see myself or anyone I know wearing this, though I haven't really... it's much more put together than I normally look when wearing jeans! Gorgeous!
What do you think? Do you like Alexis Bledel's recent style transformation or do you prefer her prim and demure as a Gilmore school girl?
